Publications

In the earlier years of our school, there was no regular annual. The last issue of the Blue and Gold, which began its history in 1908 as a monthly magazine, contained the senior pictures and was given over entirely to material concerning the graduating class, The first real annual was published in 1916 and for four years continued to be called the Blue and Gold. In 1920 “The Arrow” was chosen as the official title of the yearbook, the idea having been derived from Longfellow’s poem, “The Arrow and the Song”. The Blue and Gold continued as the school newspaper.
